In an age of digital photos and easy DVD burning, it is becoming common to take a set of photos and burn them into some form that can be played on a DVD player. A few weeks ago, for example, I was preparing a set of photos for a wedding DVD. There are a variety of ways to do this, but most of them give less than perfect results and control or they are too time intensive.

At first glance, one might think there are a lot of marks against Adobe’s Creative Suite. It is pricey, complex and essentially without much in the way of competition to spur development. That is exactly what I thought for a long time, but actually using the suite dispels the notions one might accumulate just from outside analysis. As Creative Suite 3 looms on the horizon, it is worth considering exactly what makes this suite so delightful.

The Danger of Peacemaker

Here is a story. The leaders of a church have a personal agenda against someone and want to quiet him, exact revenge or what have you. They not only come at him within their church, they continue by following him outside of that church to any other church he seeks refuge at and any place he works, making a wreck of his life in the process. That is the sort of thing that only happened in the past, in dusty tales of witch-hunts in Salem or the Inquisition in Spain, right? Wrong: it is happening today, perhaps at a seemingly normal church near you.
