Mandrake Releases First 9.1 Release Candidate

MandrakeSoft's Mandrake Linux 9.1 made a major step towards release today as the first release candidate started appearing on servers. The distribution, which has been in “beta” for about a month, should be available in stores mid-second quarter 2003.

Open for Business advises anyone considering deploying Mandrake Linux to give the new release a spin and report any bugs you might encounter at the Mandrake Bugzilla. Doing so will help pave the way to a better release for everyone.

You can find mirrors of the release on MandrakeSoft's site. Note: be sure to check that the mirror you choose has the new RC1 version and not the older BETA3 release.
