I'm not sure, so I'd like some better educated input. Running my old laptop, there are some messages on this list that send my CPU into spin cycle for quite a long period. It doesn't matter which graphical mail client I use, some messages will freeze the GUI for about 5-10 seconds (or longer) and the CPU slogs away until the screen finally refreshes and I can read it. At one point some time ago, I recall seeing some messages posted in 64-bit MIME or something, and I knew that took uudecode and lots of energy, but this is really dragging things down. My current system (RH 7.3, fully updated) isn't handling this well, whatever it is.
