OFB has learned that the cellular enabled version of Apple’s iPad tablet device is still scheduled to ship to customers by the end of April. UPDATED.

Rumors on the Internet over the last week had suggested that the launch of the iPad WiFi+3G might be bumped up to correspond to the worldwide launch of both the WiFi and WiFi+3G versions at the end of May. This was in contrast to Apple’s claimed ship date of “late April” for preorders.

The non-3G version was launched in the United States at the beginning of the month.

Early this afternoon, the Cupertino, CA-based company notified pre-order customers that the device was on still on schedule for late-April shipment “as communicated at the time you placed your order.” With eleven days remaining in the month, this means the 3G iPad launch will occur within the next week and a half.

Meanwhile, new orders for the cellular-enabled version of the iPad have been bumped up to May 7. Non-3G orders continue to ship within the 5-7 day window the company has been following for the last few weeks.

Update: Apple has confirmed April 30 as the launch date for the iPad WiFi+3G. Pre-orders made prior to yesterday will be delivered on that date and stores will start selling the device at 5:00 PM on that day.
